Ebony, a poem from, Poetry Volume One, by Rose Mary Johnson, U.S. Copyright
Up high, so high like a black speck in the sky.
You beckon me as you fly.
Hanging from the wavy white Cirrus.
The shade of your shadow mysterious.
As you masquerade atop a tree,
I hear you roam free.
Cascading across the land.
One another like hand in hand.
When you hover me.
What am I to see?
For my eyes.
In your disguise.
Ebony clusters in a pack of three.
The bellowing caws.
From the sky they flee.
I watch in awe.
I pass from thee.
Can you help me understand?
The reason you command.
Above me chasing caw.
Surrounding daylight fall.
For my eyes.
In your disguise.
What do I see?
Complete this mystery.
